Hi folks

Further to my previous December email, I've now successfully fitted a BMW
12v socket to my DV. It enables me to have a trickle charger plugged
straight in so that I don't need to worry about removing the seat etc. It's
available off the shelf and you'll need to have the wires and connector as
well. It fits nicely on the left side of the bike on the black trim just
below the seat, that way it's protected a bit from the rain when it's on the
sidestand, although there is a spring flap to cover it.

Honda have discontinued the one in the DV accessory list. The BMW one cost
£16 complete (cheaper than the Honda one)
I'm working on adapting a mobile phone charger plug to fit it.

Anybody who wants to email me, feel free to do so. It nice to chat.
My address is colin.scott@essexrivers.nhs.uk

regards

Colin

Hi all,

Does any one know if it possible to raise the handlebar height by either new bars or bar riser? Has anyone done this?

cheers

Hi folks,

As a rider of Honda machines for the last 8 yrs and now a deauville owner ( 3 months old) I noticed the built quality and the customer relations dept (London) are going down hill rapidly,

1. I owned a firestorm for 6 months ,it had a bad habit of stalling when slowing down to a stop, I took it back to the dealers where i bought it ,and was told they could do nothing about it, I wrote to Honda in London., never heard from them its 7 months now,
2.The deauville has developed rust on the exhaust cover where the front pipes go into the silencer, do you know of any other riders with this problem,
3.Apart from that the bikes great ,
4. A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

Matt,

Having only just bought a home PC for Christmas I have just come across your website after someone referred to it on the MCN website.  I think it is great there is a dedicated site to the DV.  I bought mine new (beige colour) in July 1999 after having passed my Direct Access Test in May.  I particularly wanted a tourer that my wife and I could enjoy as much as possible.  Are there any organised ride outs? I live in Lancashire and would love to join other like minded riders.
If anyone has any ideas for a ride out then please e-mail me
Thanks for a great site and keep up the good work.

Steve.

Hi folks,

If you discover that your throttle grip is a bit sticky in the cold weather just unscrew the bar end, squirt some WD40 in the hole and around the bar end, put it all back together and hey presto - smooth action again!

It works
